We skipped out of town Thanksgiving weekend for my boyfriend’s sister’s wedding. Weather in North Carolina was a balmy 60-ish degrees. It was slightly chilly but reports from home were mostly just heartfelt wishes for the snow to stop. Upon returning home, we found the Cleveland area weather to be stuck between 25 and 35 degrees and yes, it has been snowing for days. It’s not so much sticking or piling up (at least not on our side of town) but the harsh, cold weather is officially here. And right in time for Divelbiss to promote their Harsh Environment Controller!
Based on patented PLC on a Chip™ technology, the HEC-HMI series controller allows for programmable intelligence under less than ideal conditions due to a sealed, water-tight enclosure with gland connectors. The standard enclosure is sealed against the environment and is screw and sub-plate mountable. The HEC-HMI series is programmed using Divelbiss EZ Ladder software which supports ladder diagram with function block programming. The product is designed to survive in the harshest field conditions (HEC stands for Harsh Environment Controller), as are the other Programmable Logic Controllers available from Divelbiss Corporation. The HEC-HMI is available as HMI only or HMI with a Programmable Logic Controller in the same enclosure. Typical industrial uses include improved proportional valve control via closed loop, control for engine driven pumps and compressors, mobile asset management and tracking, intelligent mining or oil field equipment, conveyor systems, and marine application. The 8 to 32 VDC input power and wide operating temperature range (-40° to +80° C) is particularly useful for ease in utilization by off-highway and marine platforms.Complete specifications (including User and Programming Manuals) for this product line are available from the Divelbiss web site
