Is NEMA 12 the Right NEMA Rating for My Enclosure?
NEMA 12 is one of many NEMA enclosure ratings established by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association to evaluate the degree of protection offered by an electrical enclosure. Specifying a NEMA 12 enclosure from Polycase could be an excellent choice for your application if:
- You need an enclosure for indoor use that’s built for powerful protection in demanding applications, such as serving as a junction box in an industrial facility.
- Your device requires more protection than a NEMA 1 or NEMA 2 enclosure can provide, but you don’t necessarily need an outdoor-rated enclosure like a NEMA 4X model.
- You want to choose an enclosure rating that offers a wide variety of material and design options.
