What Is a NEMA 6P Enclosure?

NEMA 6P is the most protective enclosure type on the NEMA rating scale. These are the main characteristics of a NEMA Type 6P enclosure:

Total protection against falling dirt, windblown dust, and other particulate hazards
Waterproof against common water ingress hazards including rain/snow/sleet, splashing, and/or hose-directed water
A high degree of protection against ingress of water from occasional prolonged submersion, up to any limited depth specified by the manufacturer
