Great Options for a Project Box with a Battery Compartment

The VK Series is designed for battery-operated handheld applications. This enclosure has a 2AA battery compartment and is available in black or bright white flame-retardant ABS plastic with a UL94V-0 flame rating. The slim design of the VK Series allows each handheld project box to fit comfortably in your hand, and the standard recessed cover is ideal for graphic overlays or membrane keypads.

The VM Series is also designed for handheld applications with your choice of a 9V or a 2AA battery compartment (or no compartment). The VM series is available in three sizes and is molded in black flame-retardant ABS plastic with a UL94-5VA flame rating. These battery compartment enclosures feature a wider design than the VK Series, with a form factor designed to be comfortable to hold in your hand.

Finally, our FB Series key fob enclosures are made for versatility and durability in handheld applications that need an extremely low-profile form factor. They’re ideal for the smallest handheld devices and include a wide variety of features.

Handheld Enclosures Built to Last

We create our project box models from ABS plastic, the most widely used plastic material for electronics project boxes. ABS is an extremely tough but cost-effective plastic, which is why many people find it’s a perfect choice for their enclosures.

ABS also has flame-retardant properties, and the VM, VK, and FB Series all feature UL flame ratings. These ratings help ensure your enclosure will offer a specific standard of performance in high heat environments.

Polycase’s project box enclosures are also made with built-in features that make them excellent circuit board enclosures right out of the box. The VM and VK Series features built-in mounting bosses perfect for a circuit board, and the FB Series includes a unique feature capturing a PCB between the screw towers of the enclosure.

Optional Configurations for the VM Series

Polycase offers VM Series enclosures with many different options and configurations to meet your needs. As previously mentioned, every VM Series model includes the option for a 2AA battery compartment, a 9V battery compartment, or no compartment. 

We also offer several feature choices for the enclosure body itself, including your choice between a recessed or smooth area on the cover, as well as the option of a flush or textured cover for perfect surface consistency. Unique to the VM Series, we offer an optional infrared end panel which makes the VM enclosure an excellent choice for a scanning device. 

Finally, we also offer a silicone boot accessory for VM Series enclosures providing a powerful grip texture on your device. We offer silicone boots in three different colors, sized to fit each VM Series model perfectly.

Optional Configurations for the FB Series

Our FB Series is designed to provide unmatched versatility when designing your key fob control device. We offer numerous configurations, including one to five durable rubber buttons on most designs.

Polycase also offers the option to add a 20mm coin cell battery holder onto your FB Series enclosure. These battery holders can be easily attached to the inside of the enclosure and hold a standard 20mm coin cell battery.
