With global warming being a hot topic these days, extreme fluctuations in the weather is common around the country. Whether it’s due to global warming or not, climate change can cause problems.

Temperature ranges can often be a concern for Polycase® customers when selecting an enclosure. Some customers are looking for enclosures that can be exposed to extreme high or low temperatures without the box cracking, melting, or distorting in any way. Polycase enclosures are molded in either ABS plastic or Polycarbonate plastic. The temperature performance range on ABS plastic is -17°C to 80°C (0°F to 176°F). The temperature performance range Polycarbonate plastic is -40°C to 120°C (-40°F to 248°F).

With the majority of our enclosure series molded in ABS plastic, we can offer many of these boxes in an alternative high heat material option called Noryl®. Noryl® is a modified Polyphenylene Oxide and has a temperature performance range of -40°C to 95°C (-40°F to 203°F).
