I just purchased my Christmas tree over the weekend. We get a real tree every year so I had to dig out the tree stand from the closet on Sunday. We dropped the tree into the green plastic stand and began tightening the screws that hold the tree in its upright position. I quickly realized the metal screws had stripped the plastic holes of their threading, leaving us with a tree resembling the Leaning Tower of Pisa. So, after just two years of use, we had to scrap the plastic tree stand and get a heavy-duty metal stand.
