What is “Green” and What Does it Mean for a Plastic Electronics Enclosure Manufacturer?

August 16th, 2010

Ok here it is: My moment of ditz. Several years ago I saw a Mercury commercial where the spokeswoman stated the model was the “first green vehicle of the year”. I turned to my friend and said, “So what? No one else has used green paint?” Ok if you’re done gaping in awe at the stupidity allow me to redeem myself. This was before the whole world had taken off on the “Green” movement again. At the time, I still thought of “Green” as just planting trees and picking up garbage. Recycling, renewable energy, and hybrid vehicles were a way of life, not just a color. I’m happy to say I’ve come out of my cocoon and learned that the Green movement is alive and well. And it’s not just about renewing its appeal to the younger generations, but about renewing resources for all generations to come.

Finding ways to create renewable energy sources without depleting the current natural reserves we hold is a vital part of our world in the 21st century. But saving the planet isn’t just purchasing the proper equipment, getting the latest technology, having the right stuff. Going Green is about how you use the stuff you already have.

Because Polycase manufactures only plastic enclosures, the products are available for a wide range of uses. This post begins a series of looking into how Polycase does Green. How can our plastic electronic enclosures be useful in the search for renewable energy? Along the way, feel free to comment with your end uses for your Polycase that is helping to further the Green, Alternative-Energy lifestyle. Suggestions or comments? Drop me a line, I’m listening.
