Polycase Successful NEMA Plastic Enclosures Paves Road for Succession
February 13th, 2010
I was having a conversation the other day with a friend regarding the “Little Sibling” syndrome. As the older sibling, he was able to pave the road to new adventures, and became the expert to help guide his little sister. She got to benefit from what the whole family had learned by his experiences.
This got me thinking of the way Polycase released the HD series. By releasing one enclosure first, we were able to ensure the NEMA designed enclosure met our customers’ requirements, much like the First Born child validates the parenting skills of new parents.
When we released the HD-45, suitable for outdoor usage designed to meet NEMA and IP ratings, we were expanding our line of enclosures using UV stabilized material. Before even beginning to mold the product, we learned about NEMA / IP ratings and what traits were necessary to maintain those ratings, including silicone gaskets protecting against moisture. We included UV stabilized materials and stainless steel screws to prevent erosion and maintain the integrity of the enclosures.
The HD-45 proved we were meeting your needs. Our customers wanted more waterproof plastic enclosures, and that is what we delivered.
Now, we are proud to introduce our newest baby – HD-45’s “little sister” – the HD-35. All of the traits you love about the HD-45, in a more compact size: 5.5 x 3.5 x 1.62”. The HD series will continue to expand and benefit from our knowledge.
The enclosure was so successful, we have been able to continue to expand the NEMA line of plastic enclosures to over 30 products designed to meet NEMA ratings. You can check out the entire line here: NEMA Plastic Enclosures
