Mary, Mary Quite Contrary – How Are Your NEMA Enclosures Hung Part 2

August 31st, 2010

In our last post we touched on the obvious method of surface mounting your NEMA enclosure. Now let’s look at a nifty little mounting method you may not have been aware of, I know I wasn’t.

An alternative to attaching the flange kit to the outside of the enclosure is to use the internal screw holes in each of the 4 corners. The WA, WP and WC series of enclosures have a unique design that allows the corner mounting bosses to be cut-through with a #6 screw before the cover is attached. This means the screw can continue through the plastic, attaching the enclosure to the surface behind it. Because of the design, the enclosure must be mounted prior to attaching the cover and can also stay mounted during any maintenance or repair. The cover can be removed without having to remove the enclosure itself.

So does not having molded-on mounting flanges make these NEMA rated cases less useful? NOT AT ALL!

This is the really cool thing about getting to write his blog for you, learning more in-depth details of our product line. Hope you enjoy learning too!

Tell me about a time you used an alternative solution. I’m listening.
